Brook Trout
Also known as Speckled Trout, Brook trout where origionally introduced in 1903. They are gray to olive-green along their back and worm-like markings on the back and dorsal fin. Their sides are lighter in color with blue halos around pink or red spots. Their lower fins and lower tail fade to white.
Average Length: 4 to 21 inches.
Average Weight: 3 ounces to over 4 pounds.
Habitat
Brook Trout are found in colder streams and lakes in the White Mountains. They reproduce in streams but are most often found in cooler water lakes.
Diet
Brook Trout mostly feed on aquatic and terrestrial insects. Larger Brooks will eat small fish if they are available.
